NEW First Fix de Mamiel

By Phoebe Spuyman

Stress is a common part of daily life and everything from unwanted emails to a lack of sleep and poor diet can contribute to how much we feel its effect. When we’re under stress our bodies produce cortisol. Production of this primary stress hormone is normal in everyday life, but it can quickly become a problem if we’re exposed to it on a chronic basis.

When the body is flooded with excess cortisol, it also affects our skin. The skin barrier becomes disrupted and weakened and vital collagen and elastin start to breakdown. In turn, cells lose the ability to repair themselves, as telomeres, the protective caps at the ends of our DNA molecules, become shorter. This means the cell signals aren’t replicated as frequently and the innate repair systems struggle to function. The result can be skin that is red, irritated, dehydrated, lacking in firmness, dull and prone to blemishes. To combat the effects of stress on the skin,  skin health practitioner Annee de Mamiel has created First Fix. The result of years of meticulous study and research, this ground-breaking response serum treats both the causes and the symptoms of stress via a multi-layered approach that incorporates extensive scientific research and both western and Chinese medicine.

How It Works

Using the proven power of aromatherapy, First Fix first helps address the impact of stress on an emotional level. Formulated with the unique Cortisol Resilience Complex™ blend which includes Rose, Cape Chamomile, Vetiver and Sandalwood, First Fix communicates through the process of inhalation to the limbic system, or the emotional brain, an act which triggers changes in the way we feel. To prove its efficacy in regulating our response to stress, independent trials were undertaken that used both psychometric testing and electroencephalography (EEG), a non-invasive method of brain exploration that measures the electrical activity of the brain through electrodes. First Fix was found to significantly impact the positive emotions of testers, who reported a 93% increase in feelings of pleasure after using it. In further clinical tests, 80% of testers felt their skin looked more radiant after 2 weeks, 75% said their skin felt healthier and 77% said their skin felt more energised.

The Formulation

To lessen the physical impact of stress, First Fix contains a comprehensive roster of hardworking ingredients that act as a first-stage line of defence to repair and protect skin’s functional health. Neurophroline™, extracted from Wild Indigo, helps reduce cortisol production and activates the release of a naturally calming neuropeptide to visibly improve skin tone. Sodium Hyaluronate, Squalane and Prickly Pear, Kahai, Pomegranate and Tsubaki Oils provide deep, quenching nourishment. Amino acids Ectoin and L-Arginine support barrier function and repair skin quality to optimise hydration and Round-headed Bush Clover decreases the signs of fatigue that are exacerbated by stress. Passionfruit Extract addresses declining collagen and elastin levels, while Seabuckthorn adaptogen boosts skin density and helps restore lost definition. Blueberry polyphenol and Turmeric help soothe and reduce inflammation.

How to use

Every evening place 3-4 pumps of First Fix in your palm and rub your hands together to warm and activate the serum. Breathe in the aroma deeply, then massage over your face, working outward and upward until everything is absorbed. If your skin is in intensive need of repair, use both morning and evening.
