about the pop up

the ultimate summer pop up was launched in May 2018 with an aim to provide a platform for in-demand and sustainable brands. The goal was to create a unique space, promoting collaboration between the brands and building a community and an intimate environment for designers to connect each other with new clients. Aside from their designs, each brand was encouraged to bring something to the space – with founders leading yoga classes, life drawing classes, co-hosting events and talks.

Sustainability is an important aspect of the company, with the majority of brands being eco-friendly and a strict no plastic and minimal waste policy. During each pop up a portion of the profits are donated to an environmental charity.

about the founders

bella buchanan has almost 10 years’ experience in the fashion industry, in buying, styling, marketing and retail. After graduating from Istituto Marangoni, she began a career as a buyer for AlOthman, with key projects including a collaboration with Harvey Nichols and opening their first outpost in London. After three years, Bella moved into marketing and took a position at Nicholas Kirkwood, where she worked closely with the designer to implement and develop a new marketing strategy, launch e-commence and lead a global 10-year celebration of the brand with events around the world. Following that she took a head of marketing role at Galvan London, overseeing social, digital and press as well as wholesale, partnerships and events.

A strong desire to work with and create a platform for sustainable brands led to Bella to launch the ultimate summer pop up in May 2018. It was a space in the heart of London that became renowned for its carefully curated brand mix ranging from the most in demand bikinis, beachwear, activewear and skincare, alongside beauty treatments, speakers, yoga classes and more. After four successful summer months, Bella partnered with Lily Fortescue to launch worn. the focus again on conscious fashion, with all items pre-loved from the most highly coveted wardrobes in London. Alongside this, Bella also holds the role of head of marketing for CARAVANA, where she has overseen the opening of stores in Miami and Mykonos as well as pop-up’s in Los Angeles and New York.

Lily fortescue has been in the fashion industry for 11 years, her experience started in wholesale and sales, where she sold an independent female fashion label around the world and assisted with buying, press and visual merchandising. Lily’s interest and skills quickly moved into co-founding sustainable everyday underwear label Cheekfrills. At Cheekfrills, Lily was in charge of the sales, PR, marketing and design – leading the brand to become available in over 500 doors worldwide including ShopBop, Selfridges and Barneys, with collaborations with Carolyn Murphy and NET-A-PORTER. To mark the end to Cheekfrills, Lily saw the brand enter the iconic V&A museum in “A Brief History of Undress”.

After moving away from lingerie, Lily began a consultancy business helping brands such as No.1 Rosemary and Maddox Gallery with sales, events and marketing. During this time Lily worked with emerging brands and would host pop-up’s, increasing the brands visibility and new customers. It was natural that Lily and Bella would merge forces having met with similar ideas.

bella and lily now run a series of pop up’s throughout the year and are known for creating exceptional spaces with exciting events and unique collaborations.
